PB-4: Rs. 37,400-67,000/-with grade pay of Rs. 8,700/-(Rs. 14,300-400-18,300/-Pre-revised scale)
(i) For appointment by deputation (including Short-Term Contract), age not exceeding 56 years as on the closing date for receipt of applications.
(ii) For direct recruitment, age not exceeding 50 years as on the closing date for receipt of application. (Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/UT Govt, servants up to five years as per the instructions issued by the Govt, of India from time to time).
Eligibility for Deputation (including Short-Term Contract)
Officers under Central Government, State Governments or Union Territory Administrations or Universities or recognised Research Institutions or Public Sector Undertakings or Semi-Government or Statutory or Autonomous organisations:
a) (i) holding analogous post on regular basis; or
(ii) holding post with 5 years' regular service in the scale of Rs.12,000-16,500 (pre-revised) or equivalent and
b) possessing the educational qualifications and experience prescribed for direct recruits as indicated against Item No. 6 below.
Qualifications and Experience for the Posts (applicable to Deputation including Short-Term Contract) or Direct Recruitment
Essential Qualifications
A. Educational:
Master's degree in Chemistry/Bio Chemistry/Chemistry of Foods and Drugs and Water/Food Technology/ Microbiology/Food and Drugs from a recognised University or equivalent.
B. Experience:
(i) 15 years' experience in Food Processing/Food Analysis/Food Standards or related areas, out of which at least 10 years should be in Laboratory or Research Organisation in the analysis of Food and knowledge of Food Standards and of problems connected with Food Adulteration. Out of 15 years' experience as above, at least 5 years experience should be in supervisory capacity.
(ii) 8 years' experience of conducting/guiding research on Food Composition (evidence to be furnished.)
Desirable
(i) Training and Research in Toxilogy or Bacteriology or GM Food.
(ii) Doctorate in the subject concerned.
NOTE: The qualifications are relaxable at discretion of the Food Authority in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
